    Translator for the Croatian Language

Croatian is the collective name for the standard language and dialects spoken by Croats, principally in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian province of Vojvodina and other neighbouring countries. Standard and literary Croatian is based on the central dialect, Shtokavian, more specifically on Eastern Herzegovinian, which is also the basis of standard Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. The two other principal Croatian dialects are Chakavian (Čakavian) and Kajkavian. The two variants of the Croatian language, liturgical and non-liturgical, continued to be a part of the Glagolitic service as late as the middle of the 9th century. The modern Neo-Shtokavian standard that appeared in the mid 18th century was the first unified Croatian literary language.1
